This morning as I was preparing to tape my next offering on Youtube, I came across an article from The Daily Beast (an appropriate name for this “news” outlet). The article was titled “Forget the Meteor. We Should Be Talking About Biblical Rape Culture in the Sodom Story.” An irresponsible title, that will lead unlearned readers to think the bible somehow can encourage rape, and that rape is part of the bible’s culture, God forbid. You will find by the end of this teaching just how wrong people today are when it comes to the things of God. You will also find because of improper translations and expressions of the story that “literal rape” has nothing to do with it. God OVERTHROWING the TWIN WICKED CITIES has more to do with all of us, than it has to do with a literal Meteor wiping out a literal city or two, as their article details.

The reason for the article was a recent discovery, which seemed to lend credibility to the “literal” story of Sodom and Gomorrah. The telling of this story is commonly found in the book of Genesis but it is totally misunderstood and misrepresented. However, today you will find out what this story is really about, what it truly means, and why it’s important to understand it’s revelation.

Jesus taught us in the gospels that the Kingdom of God is a Mystery. Mysteries are exciting and the true reward is found in uncovering the TREASURE within the mystery. My friends, there is a treasure within the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. YES, the bible is filled with stories that may have literally happened, and I believe in the literal before any of you reading say I am discounting the documented historical accuracy of it all. However, as the scriptures express, it is the SPIRIT of the story that gives us life, if we get to focused on the literal, which many times has been improperly translated and represented as you will see, we SIN (miss the mark/point). God has made us MINISTERS of the SPIRIT (the essence-essential truth) of these “literal” stories. This is A NEW COVENANT a NEW way of understanding the Kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians 3:6 – He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter (literal) kills (makes us ignorant), but the Spirit gives life.

So excavations took place at Tall el-Hammam, the largest archaeological site in the Jordan Valley. A joint team from Trinity Southwest University and the Department of Antiquities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan discovered that the region was continuously inhabited for two and a half millennia, 3,600 years ago and then it was suddenly destroyed. This is why there have been many articles about Sodom and Gomorrah and how this literal event may have inspired the “story”. Ironically, this week I had been formulating a show where I would talk about the TWIN WICKED CITIES, so when the discovery was first announced I felt a confirmation of sorts.

In response to this article and more, I am going to break down Genesis 19 to open your eyes to the TRUTH that has been hidden for many years. I am going to do this by taking the chapter line by line and interpreting not only the true origins of the words and the proper translations, but the SPIRIT of the story, which is what we are instructed to find.

Before we begin, something should be revealed to you. It is the ACTUAL meaning of the names of these cities and a bit more. SODOM actually means “BURNING” from Strong #: 4670 ‑ Σόδομα (sod’‑om‑ah). If that isn’t interesting enough GOMORRAH means “SUBMERSION”. Fire and Water. The two ways God destroys sin and wickedness from the world, is also a picture of SIN in the world.

It goes further, BURNING is synonymous with the “Lusts” of the Flesh. SUBMERSION reminds me of the FLOOD of ungodly men and thoughts King David prayed to be delivered from. A flood of LIES is what the DRAGON of Revelation sends upon the world in hopes of drowning that the Spirit of the living God being birthed inside us.

James 1:8 – A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

These “CITIES” which literally translate into “CITY = A Place Guarded by Waking or Watched” are OVERTHROWN by God. The word “overthrow” does not mean OBLITERATED, it is actually more personal and can literally means to TRANFORM ONESELF.

While LOT, Abraham’s nephew, who lives on the border between the two (which is significant because a Double Minded man is unstable), needs to be REMOVED from the “GATE” of this place for that to happen.

Not ironically, LOT literally means COVERING or VEIL. Lot is another word for the FLESH or the CARNAL IDEA of who a “person is”, LOT simply understood is what a person identifies themselves to be. Its WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE.

LOT – the idea of who you THINK YOU ARE needs to be REMOVED from that place of wicked duality for God to TRANSFORM your life. So you see, this story, has nothing to do with “Biblical Rape Culture” but has EVERYTHING to do with being BORN AGAIN.

In order for this to happen, God MUST send his MESSENGERS (the TRUTH) to bring a person to a HIGHER/HEAVENLY place of thinking to deliver them from doing any more business with the Lies and Lusts of the WORLD. This is where LOT resided, and most of us too. LOT could easily go to either city and partake of their evil, so long as they existed. This is a picture of us being ruled by the Ways of this World and not God.

So let’s dig in to some passages here, because it has NOTHING to do with Sexual Relations and everything to do with Spiritual Understanding to which, you will find the people of Sodom and Gomorrah (those burning with Lust and flooded with lies) are BLIND TO.

19 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; ² And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. ³ And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat. ⁴ But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:

When the TRUTH of God is heard, it humbles you (hence Lot bowing himself) and upon hearing/understanding there is more to God than you have been told, you desperately want to know more. You, like LOT, WELCOME GODS TRUTH INTO YOUR HOME if you will. This is a picture of God delivering us from what hurts us and what ultimately will destroy us if we don’t flee from this iniquity.

Now, when you first come to hear the wonderful truth of God’s love and Righteousness you will see that PEOPLE IN THE WORLD will do A LOT to try and discourage this. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah are a picture also of the lies we have believed which will come looking to destroy the tender truth God has planted in your heart.

No sooner did Lot welcome the GOD’S MESSENGERS (truth of God) into his home and offered UNLEAVENED bread (a picture of a sinless understanding of God’s truth) – remember we must beware of the LEAVEN of the Pharisees (pride/ego), did the WORLD come a knocking.

It is important to understand that the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah both young and old, (wickedness doesn’t discriminate – older lies/newer lies), came to Lot’s door before LOT ever got a chance to LAY DOWN (Rest).

Isn’t that always the case, you start to see the wonderful works of God and before you get a chance to rest in them, the world does everything it can to kill that potential inside. The picture of being compassed on all sides is frightening, but what that word “COMPASSED” literally translates too open our eyes to what is really going on here.

The word COMPASS literally means to “turn back, reverse”. God sends you the TRUTH, you welcome it into your heart and the world comes to RETURN YOU to your wickedness and ignorance. A picture found in Proverbs 26:11 – As the dog returns to its vomit, so a fool returns to their folly.

The instant we decide to allow the truth of God in our heart the ways of the world, the lusts of the flesh, and the deceitfulness of riches comes to RETURN you to your old ways of thinking. This is why its so important to NEVER LOOK back at the life you have left.

⁵ And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

The last part of this passage is what many pastors, priests, rabbis, preachers and more use to justify the idea that this was a purely carnal story. It wasn’t a story about our deliverance from a destructive life of sin, but the world turns it into “biblical rape culture”. The scripture states in verse 5 that the men of Sodom wanted to KNOW these angels. Many bible translations state that they wanted to have sex with the angels, to “know” them carnally. However, that just isn’t correct translation at all.

The word “Know” from Strongs 03045 – literally means to COMPREHEND, to Understand, in regards to instruction. It has absolutely NOTHING at all to do with having sexual relations, but of an intimate comprehension of the truth of God. People that dwell in a place Burning with Lust and Submerged in Lies and Foolish thinking MAY want to know the things of God, but they cannot.

I have seen this many times myself, people who may even consider themselves to be Christian will knock on my “door” to see who it is I have residing within me (what is it that Jacob knows about God) – they even make demands. Many of whom cannot possibly understand these things because God hasn’t sent his “ANGELS” to their “homes/heart” yet. Sadly, what they really want is to COMPASS me – To Bring Me Back to seeing things their way. Those who attack what it is I share, only do so because they are BLIND to the glorious truth of what God has revealed and are not secure in their own understanding and faith.

People that attack you for seeing the Love of God in a NEW WAY (new covenant) often times operate out of fear that what they have believed may not be true, and so instead of asking God for the truth no matter what the cost they will try and FORCE THEIR BELIEFS on you and me, so they can feel better about themselves.

This happens almost IMMEDIATELY after people start to see God in a NEW LIGHT. The Darkness (ignorance) always wants to snuff it out, but the Light that is shining today in the hearts of many cannot be put out, only the LIES can.

So LOT goes out and pleads with the inhabitants of the “world” and he offers his two daughters. There we see that duality again. He goes onto reveal to the crowd his daughters have not Known a Man. While some have said Lot only offered daughters because these wicked men only wanted the angelic men who came to be at Lots house, I say there is more.

The term Daughter is used often in scripture, and many times it has nothing to do with a Literal female heir BUT a “weaker” creation of man’s ego. Not a Child of God, but a Child of Man. The word “daughter” according to Strongs is used in the WIDE sense of OTHER terms for a relationship, like the apple of my eye, branch, company, etc. Meaning, a product of. The DAUGHTER OF ZION is a product of the Holy City whereas the DAUGHTER OF BABLYON is a person that is a product of ignorance and lies.

The WORLD wanted to TAKE what God had given LOT, but LOT (the Flesh) offers only what the FLESH can produce on it’s own. Sort of like the world demanding to take your peace and stability from you and you offer the world your fear and worry in return. The DAUGHTERS are attributes of ourselves that had not KNOWN A MAN (The key to understanding this is that “man” is a HUSBAND/GOD).

We do not Offer the WORLD what God has given us at this point, we offer our “daughters”, our worldly creations. Part of us knows that the TRUTH of God is not welcomed by the world, because the unrighteous will tear it apart and destroy it, so instead we give the world what we created instead… HEY LOOK AT MY RESUME… don’t worry about my revelation. We offer the savages of the world what we ourselves created in the world, without knowing God. But the WORLD wont stop there.

⁶ And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, ⁷ And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. ⁸ Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. ⁹ And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

The WORLD, the Beast System that it is, will always want to steal your Righteousness, Peace and Joy. It will always want what you have and what God has given you. You can even offer the world what you consider to be your prize possessions, but it will always want more. The system wants YOU to worship IT and there is no getting around that without God. The WORLD wants you to GIVE UP your faith and understanding. The WORLD wants to ROB you of Joy and Peace. However, God has plans for the world of Sodom and Gomorrah.

¹⁰ But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. ¹¹ And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. ¹² And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: ¹³ For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.

The MORE pressure the WORLD places on you (and it’s about to get worse for many of us) God is right there to pull us back inside (remind us of our faith) and shut the DOOR to the Kingdom of God. Because it can no longer be taken by Force! We have POWER over our thoughts as Christ taught.

Verse 11 becomes more clear to us now, the wicked cannot find the TRUTH of God because they are Blind to it. The ANGELS blind the enemies of God so they can’t find God. Its impossible for the Flesh to know the Spirit of God, because the two are at odds.

Lot is then told to gather his family, and bring them OUT from the Gate (entrance) to the duality of Lies and Lust. The Reason is GOOD NEWS. GOD IS GOING TO DESTROY IT because this kind of sinful thinking has caused such great pain to us all.

This is the good news I am always going on about, how if you follow the Lord and seek God and DONT turn back like we find Lot’s wife doing (symbolic of our first relationship with the world) then we will be set free.

The QUESTION is, when God sets us free… send his MESSAGE into your heart…. after fleeing the ways of the world, WILL YOU GO ALL THE WAY UP TO THE MOUNTAIN OF GOD, as Lot was told to do?

And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. ¹⁶ And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. ¹⁷ And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

WILL YOU GO TO THE MOUNTAIN OF GOD? Or, will you do as Lot did… Will you say, No God I cant give you my life completely, Ill lose my job, I’ll end up being cast out of the system, the System will seek to kill me if I TRULY SERVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART.

Lot was scared of what would happen if he went where the Angels told him to go, instead he asked to dwell in a place that is still sort of near those wicked cities. The name of the place is called ZOAR and it is a SMALL city, which LITERALLY TRANSLATES into INSIGNIFICANCE. This is why Lot’s story basically ends there. He didn’t go to the Mountain, Lot (the Flesh) didn’t want to fully commit to the things of God, and yet God still saves them.

¹⁸ And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: ¹⁹ Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: ²⁰ Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. ²¹ And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. ²² Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

Today it can seem scary to serve God. You may fear what might happen. But if you allow this fear to keep you from what God has purposed for you and your life, as Lot, you too will find an Insignificant Life to be your reward.

In conclusion, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah may have literally happened, and if that is the case it doesn’t negate the SPIRIT of the STORY, which is valued above all else. Don’t dwell in Zoar, come to the Mountain and the next time someone tells you that this story is all about “Biblical Rape Culture”, as the Daily BEAST put it, tell them to dig deeper, to look for the truth no matter what the cost, and send them this article as proof.

PROOF that GOD has sent his TRUTH into the world right now, it is in the streets, WELCOME IT INTO YOUR HEART and from it don’t ever depart.
