LET THINE EYE BE SINGLE
I want to share something quite profound with all of you. I really want you all to hear what the spirit (inspiration) is saying here, because it could be the very thing that helps you to finally live a fulfilled and wondrous life. This will be a much shorter essay, as I felt I needed to keep this brief for those who are not yet hungry enough to invest a great deal of time.
Today, I kept hearing two scriptures again and again in my head. “Faith comes by hearing” was the first. Followed by, “with Faith all things are possible.” Now, some of you may have caught that already. But for those that are just coming to the morning light that is being shined abroad let me expound on this for you because it truly is a remarkable and extremely important revelation for such a time as this.
So let’s begin with the first part, how our faith is formed.
Romans 10:17
So then FAITH comes by HEARING…
Simply stated, we BELIEVE the things we HEAR again and again.
For example, if we are told black is white and white is black… that becomes our reality. Even though ultimately, black or white are simply words we attach to our experience. There is neither in reality. But that is for another day.
FAITH COMES BY HEARING… why is this important? some may ask.
The reason is, our lives are being shaped by our faith, and our FAITH is formed by what we FIRST HEAR. Not just auditory hearing of course, as we can HEAR our thoughts within.
A rudimentary example of this is to understand why children believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. It is because they first HEARD SUCH. FAITH comes by hearing. The same can be said for those who believe in demons and devils… Not because they ever experienced such, but because they first heard of such and then had faith in such, and so a world where spooky evil lurks becomes their experience.
However, this concept goes much deeper. YOU ARE WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT YOURSELF. In addition, WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT YOURSELF IS WHAT YOU HAVE FIRST HEARD. (whether from the lips of others, your own, or the thoughts swimming in your head) Whichever words YOU HEAR (focus your attention on) forms the FAITH that what you “hear” is your reality… and so YOUR REALITY BECOMES.
As a child if you are told that you are no good again and again. You will begin to have FAITH that YOU ARE NO GOOD. This is why people must understand that SHAME and FEAR are not good teachers. If you don’t want children who misbehave, STOP TELLING YOUR CHILDREN THEY MISBEHAVE!
Now the opposite is also true… If a child hears again and again that he or she is loved and highly favored, that child will have FAITH that he, or she, is loved and highly favored… and “works” shall follow.
What we hear, BECOMES… FAITH COMES BY HEARING.
This is why it is so important to bridle our tongues. The tongue seems to be the smallest muscle but it is quite powerful. So much so, that the scriptures state, “the power of life and death is in the tongue.”
NOW, WHY IS THAT? Why, is the power of life and death in the tongue?
Well, my friends, the answer is simple… because FAITH COMES BY HEARING… and with FAITH ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE… so, whatever you hear again and again you WILL BEGIN TO PUT FAITH IN… which in turn has the POWER TO MANIFEST THAT IN YOUR WORLD… and all of that starts with the TONGUE (either spoken words, or written words, or thoughts)
Faith comes by hearing… With Faith all things are possible.
This is why, I SAY again and again what will be… and again and again IT BECOMES. This is why I SPEAK the desire of my heart, so I can HEAR what is being said, so I can then believe such a thing is not only possible, but REALITY…. and since “with Faith ALL THINGS are possible” – whatever it is I have focused on BECOMES!
I am not a psychic, I don’t hear from some far away God who speaks to me, I hear what inspiration within me has to say… and what it is saying I THEN REPEAT… OUT LOUD… FOR EVERYONE… INCLUDING MYSELF to HEAR!
And when I hear the words that I speak, somewhere along the line, regardless of how seemingly impossible such a feat sounds to be, I begin to believe it. I begin to put my FAITH in it. And with FAITH ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! Which is why, the things I say will happen… HAPPEN!
I would be lying if I SAID I HAVE SEEN ONLY the good manifested in my life. You see, I ignorantly have created some terrible and awful experiences for myself, and for others. And during those times, I did not see that I WAS THE ONE to blame. I would tell everyone how terrible things were, and why wouldn’t I, because (I believed) that was my experience. Instead, of seeing that it was only because I BELIEVED such terrible things that it BECAME MY EXPERIENCE.
Thankfully, I also spoke LIFE from this faucet that at times would spout DEATH. And soon, I learned to SPEAK AND THINK ONLY ON THE GOOD! Because that is a KEY TO HEAVEN ITSELF.
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
And soon the WORDS OF DEATH I once ignorantly spoke were swallowed up in the WORDS OF LIFE that I HEARD and HAD FAITH IN, which in turn created the LIFE I am sharing with you today.
We, like God… CREATE BOTH LIFE AND DEATH… BOTH GOOD AND EVIL… We create it all… LIKE GOD.
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
Side note: the word “Lord” means “the one who exists”
So, it can also be said … I form the light (life, joy, peace, wisdom), and the darkness (death, fear, chaos, ignorance) – I MAKE PEACE AND CREATE EVIL… because FAITH COMES BY HEARING, and what we hear and begin to believe becomes… because with FAITH ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.
Now, with all of that being said. I want to get to the cross (point) of this article.
WE NEED TO LET OUR EYE BE SINGLE!
This whole essay began with as a simple Facebook post. As I wrote more, and my fingers frantically typed away as if inspired by something higher and greater than myself, this essay you are reading now took shape.
So let me continue by taking you to Matthew 6:22 which states, ” The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
There is a huge KEY hidden in this verse. It is the key to a peaceful and fulfilled life. This great truth hidden right there under our noses.
I sure hope the “spirit” of what I share, opens your EYE to the LIFE within us all…. Please pay attention to this next line.
The LIGHT of the BODY is the EYE!

The LIGHT of the BODY is the EYE. The EYE is the LIGHT OF THE BODY.
LIGHT=EYE=YOU (lights of the world)
You are LIGHTS in this world… And that LIGHT comes from the EYE… But the EYE is not the LITERAL EYE as you have been told. It is not the PINEAL gland as some might say. It is not the THIRD EYE as some might say. THE EYE is the LIGHT of the BODY. And it is much more than what you are using to read these words.
The EYE very clearly is an allegory for a PERSON’S PERCEPTION
However, don’t take my word for it. Let us go to the literal translation of the word ‘EYE” in this passage. Here is the literal translation below.
EYE: o)fqalmo/v — metaphor. the eyes of the mind, the faculty of knowing
So, clearly, the EYE is the faculty of KNOWING. And what you KNOW is what you PERCEIVE/understand/judge things to be.
Here is an accurate definition of “Perception” – Perception is the way we interpret information
… PERCEPTION IS WHAT WE KNOW = EYE
How you PERCEIVE things determines whether or not that LIGHT (which YOU really are, which is YOUR LIFE) SHINES or NOT.
Only when you understand why “your eye should be SINGLE”, and what “YOUR EYE BEING SINGLE” really means… will you begin to see the more beautiful picture.
The word “SINGLE”: a(plou=v – literally translates into “WHOLE, COMPLETE, FULFILLING IT’S OFFICE, SOUND in UNDERSTANDING”
So we find a more excellent understanding of this misunderstood passage of scripture.
NOW LET’S PUT IT TOGETHER AND LEARN SHALL WE…
– I will share the scripture and then reveal the “spirit” behind the words if you will. And IF you put to practice what you learn here… IF you being to see your life through a different EYE, a SINGLE eye, an EYE that sees one’s life as perfect, complete and lacking nothing… then you will have LIFE INDEED.
And to do this first we must understand, that WHERE OUR TREASURE is there our HEART (mind) is also.
Matthew 6
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
THE physical HEART sustains our PHYSICAL LIFE. So metaphorically, as it pertains to our SPIRITUAL LIFE, the HEART is in this instance is OUR MIND.
Whatever we value (treasure) reveals our heart (mind/what we think).
Let me explain this further… whatever we give the most attention to (our treasure) becomes what sustains the life of that “treasure” in our lives. Meaning, what we believe becomes our experience. What we focus our attention on is our treasure. What we value the most and focus on the most is soon manifested in the world. Good or bad.
So, whatever OUR EYE be on, whether that be LIGHT or DARK, becomes our LIFE EXPERIENCE.
Because the LIGHT/LIFE of the BODY is the EYE (OUR PERCEPTION)
So, where our treasure is… whatever we VALUE… whatever we pay the most attention too… BECOMES (because it is then revealed to the world AS OUR LIFE (whether dark or light, wrong or right, filled or lacking, peaceful or chaotic)
Now, treasure is NOT just what you WANT FROM LIFE as you have been told….
Treasure, is what you VALUE the most in each and every moment, of each and every day.
So, you see, TREASURE does not have to be a good thing. You can TREASURE THE ROSE PEDALS or the THORNS. And what you treasure you will speak about, and hear again and again, and what you hear will turn into faith, and your faith can create anything and everything YOU TREASURE.
GET IT?
Many ignorantly “treasure” their misery.
And when you tell the SUFFERER that they VALUE and TREASURE their SUFFERING and then get angry and tell you, “go to hell!” remember, THEY CANNOT SEE THIS… because THEY ARE IN DARKNESS, great darkness. And DARKNESS is ignorance.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
It is impossible for anyone to see that they value their misery, IF THEY ARE MISERABLE… because that is what they TREASURE at that moment.
In addition, until their EYE BE SINGLE… until they begin to SEE that THEIR LIFE is FULL, PERFECT, LACKING NOTHING, and that WHERE THEIR HEART IS defines their LIFE EXPERIENCE they cannot feel fulfilled, perfect or whole.
If their EYE… If their PERCEPTION is that their LIFE is LACKING… this is what they will experience… BECAUSE THEY VALUE IT ENOUGH TO CONTINUE GOING ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT IT.
FAITH COMES BY HEARING…. remember?
So, you see, there is a much-needed word within these simple passages for us all to lay hold of.
In closing, in what, is perhaps my shortest essay to date, which I know is not that short after all… I would like to break down these three verse so you too can allow your EYE to be SINGLE WITH ME.
Matthew 6:21-23
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
(What ever you FOCUS ON, whatever you VALUE enough to THINK about and SPEAK about is your treasure. And where your treasure is, there your heart will be.
WHAT EVER YOU FOCUS ON and THINK ABOUT BECOMES YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCE.
Because….
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Your LIFE is YOUR PERCEPTION.
Your PERCEPTION is YOUR LIFE.
If you PERCEIVE your LIFE (EYE) to be FULFILLED, WHOLE AND COMPLETE and LACKING NOTHING, then you have LIFE indeed.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
HOWEVER, if your PERCEPTION is that your LIFE is NOT COMPLETE, NOT FULFILLED and LACKING then you will become IGNORANT of the fact THAT IT IS NOT!
If you only dwell on (value/treasure) misfortune then misfortune becomes the life you live, and you will be blind to the fact that IT NEVER HAS BEEN.
Just as if you VALUE (treasure) LIFE, PEACE, JOY, UNITY, LOVE, and HAPPINESS then that is the LIFE you WILL BEGIN TO PERCEIVE AS REALITY… and what you PERCEIVE…. IS… THE LIFE YOU LIVE INDEED!
In closing, I simply ask… to LET YOUR EYE BE SINGLE… and see what happens next.
PERCEIVE YOUR LIFE as FULFILLED, COMPLETE, AND LACKING NOTHING and you will enter the kingdom of heaven before those with their eye on evil all the time.
FAITH COMES BY HEARING… so speak life!
LET YOUR EYE BE SINGLE… PERCEIVE YOUR WORLD AS PERFECT, PEACEFUL, AND LACKING NOTHING… and it WILL BE… I PROMISE!

I really enjoyed both of these, Jacob. For me, though, I believe we have no enemies other than the ones in our own house (mind). We may project our internal enemies upon another but that doesn’t change who our true enemies are and where they really are. I think some people get too caught up in thinking they have to forgive those around them who have wronged them when really, all they need to do is forgive their own thoughts that painted those individuals in a negative light to begin with. We are instructed to pray for our enemies. Again, many take this to mean we are to literaly pray for those we perceive to be our enemies but none of this changes us or anyone else for that matter. If our enemies are of our own house as scripture states, and we are to pray for them, then there must be another way, a narrow way, perhaps. That way is meditation. Just simply turning within yourself and seeking the Kingdom of God which is within. When we do this, there is no longer any separateness. There is no “you” or “me”. There is only one. Truly, we are all one. So when we enter into meditation, we are praying for enemies. We are submitting them to God to be changed or transformed if you will and as they become transformed, so too does your perception. So the person you once perceived to be your enemie because of your old thought patterns is now perceived to be your friend or better yet, you perceive them to be yourselves because of the renewing of your mind that takes place in meditation. And that’s when we taste true, unconditional love for the very first time. We are trading in our old mind/old thought patterns for the mind of Christ. Paul said we must die daily. There is no greater sacrifice than to lay down your life for a friend. When you meditate, you are laying down your life in exchange for something far greater than yourself. And when you lay down your life in meditation, you are doing this for your friends because they will be the ones to directly benefit from it. Who benefits from someone who refuses to change their abusive treatment towards another? Not one single person can benefit from that. But if that person takes the steps to change themselves by symbolically Latin down their life (there old nature), then everyone that person comes into contact with will benefit from their sacrifice. This is what it’s all really about. We are every character and every allegory plays out within our own being. We change ourselves, we change our world. Repent means to change thinking. Our thinking is changed through meditation. And that leads me to my last thought, the single eye. Everything physical is a manifestation of the spirit, this includes the pineal gland. Now, I am not saying hat the pineal gland in and of itself has any magical properties, but it is highly symbolic in many ways. I have mentioned meditation a lot in my post, because all of this goes together. Jacob’s name(nature) was changed to Israel after his thigh(lower desires) were put out by God. Jacob named the place he saw God face to face Penial. Jesus was crucified at age 33 at Golgatha(place of the skull) between two thieves. The human body has 33 vertebrae when you count the first three vertebrae that are fused together to form the sacrum. The name Israel when broken apart becomes Is(female) Ra(male) and El(God). When you enter into meditation, both the spirit(male) and the mind(female) become one to produce God. The spirit and mind become one by lifting up our ego or carnal mind upon our staff(spine) as a sacrifice unto God just as the physical body of Jesus was a sacrifice into God. Our sacrifice ascends up the 33 vertebra all the way to the pineal gland that is said to be tucked inside a cave like structure behind and between our two eyes. When this happens, the stone is rolled away and our renewed nature resurrects. All of this happens within meditation. That is why it is so important and these symbols are all so important. We are in these bodies of flesh which are likened to tombs for our spirit so we can resurrect our true natures into this world. God is literally being born into this world. Currently, the carnal ego is still very much alive and strong thus we have the current state of things as they are. But I promise anyone who takes this journey within themselves will begin to be changed and so will there reality along with it because after all, our realities are only a reflection of our inner states of consciousness. The woman is the mind. It is the woman who gives birth to the thoughts(seed) we sow within her womb. Not all thoughts are fertilized, only the ones we spend the most time focusing on. Thoughts are like waves of possible manifestation. Only the ones we focus on the most or collapse with our consciousness will eventually be born into our reality. The man is the spirit or the part of us that is God. The mind is to be impregnated by our spirit(God) so the Christ within may be born. But, the woman(mind) must be a virgin. That is, there must be no thought. The mind must be allowed to be impregnated by God and God alone. This can only happen in meditation. The carnal mind, the mind of Christ, the renewing of our minds, Is all spoken about in scripture. Until we take this narrow path down the rabbit hole, we are dead men walking. It doesn’t matterchow much knowledge we acquire about these spiritual truths unless we put it into practice. Jesus he man also knew these things, but that knowledge did not negate the need for his crucifixion and neither does it ours. We are to follow him all the way to the Golgatha on that cross between the two thrives. We are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice just as Jesus did. It is our story. We all know very well what the life of Jesus was like before the crucifixion, now let’s exoerience what the life of Christ is like after the crucifixion.

Could the two thieves, who come to destroy, be our physical ears?
Ought we listen to the Voice Within , and not the voices that our ” thieves ” can physically and are constantly sending to our mind?
I have heard that before … I also see it as light and darkness -truth and lies – submission and rebellion … we have both natures within … one that submits and one that rebels
